Pigeon Mountain

I was so impressed with this beautiful hike! Pigeon mountain is not too strenuous but still long and high enough to be a good workout. The views are amazing - both along the way and at the summit. The trail is just a straightforward stroll to the top and back down and the trailhead is only an hour away from Calgary.

There is a stark boundary where the forest ends and the plains begin.
The rolling grassy hills full of wildflowers were steep but picturesque.
The sounds of wildlife were overwhelming during my ascent. We didn’t have a moment of silence between the chirping and squeaking and whistling of all the critters around us.
At the summit, the reward is a 360-degree view of the neighbouring peaks, as well as Canmore.
Looking back towards the summit.
Peak wildflower season.
I am so happy to find another wonderful summit close to home. The neighbouring Wind Ridge seems like another great hike .
